***CONTAINS SPOILERS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK*** This was my first book by Lesley Jones. I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars (if only we had 1/2 star options). Obviously I went with 4, mainly because it did consume most of my day because I had to know what happened and could not put it down. There is a glossary of terms for readers like me who are not familiar with slang UK/Australian slang words. I admit that I laughed when I first saw it, but actually used it throughout the book. I don't feel like the story reached it's full potential. I was entranced with this characters and the story from the beginning, but I still felt like it drug on, pun definitely intended. From the beginning, you can't help but root for Sean and Georgia, often forgetting how young they actually are. One stupid mistake keeps them apart for 4 long and lonely years. This is when I started to dislike Georgia. I can see why she would be upset and initially wouldn't want to talk to or about Sean, see him or hear him. But for 4 miserable years? She finally feels again with a man that her family warned her about, but she couldn't resist Cam. I had a love/hate relationship with Cam. I did find myself loving him more than hating him, but I still was on Team Sean. After a fight with Cam, she runs right in the arms of Sean. This is where she further annoyed me and made me feel bad for both guys. For so much of the book, Sean had been begging and pining to just see and/or speak to her (I do realize her mother played a part in that) and she refused to even speak his name. He happened to be at her brother's house when Georgia showed up after fighting with Cam and it was like all was okay at the flip of a switch. They get back together that night while she was still with Cam, so she did the very thing she was so depressed and angry at Sean for, SHE CHEATED. When she finally chooses and marries Sean, SHE CHEATED on him with Cam. I just don't get how she spent so much time hating Sean for what he allegedly did when she did the same thing to both guys she supposedly loved. Fast forward to the end, I did not like it. Sure, I like a HEA, but that is not why I liked it. I felt like I had spent hours building up to this amazing ending, one where they finally get their happy family, when out of nowhere, they are hit by a car driven by a stranger and she loses both boys? At first, I thought I was ticked off because they didn't get their happily ever after. Then I thought about how there is a lot of truth in the ending in that life can change in an instant and we aren't guaranteed a HEA forever I still couldn't quit thinking about the ending when I finally figured out why I didn't like it. In my mind, it could have used a twist like Whorely or a deranged fan killing him or a result from Franks's or Cam's illegal activities. I don't know. Something else. I will say, I do like how Jimmie, Ash and the family handled Georgia after her almost suicide. It definitely tugged on my heartstrings when whey made her realize what her intended death would do the those loved ones who are left behind. Even with all my critiques, I do still plan on reading the others in the series and hope that Georgia can find her happily ever after.

This was so unexpected, and not a normal read for me. I knew this book would piss me off and I was right. I am glad I kept reading however because this story took me on a wild ride. One that I won't soon forget.

The synopsis didn't give away too much of what this book was about so I went in pretty blind, and there were several times I really wanted to stop reading, but I couldn't. This book broke every rule I have but I had to see how it played out. It wasn't even that I WANTED to see how it played out....I NEEDED to. I did keep having to remind myself that the beginning of this story takes place in the 80's so the drinking and drug usage in my opinion was more excessive than I'm used to reading especially in such a young crowd of kids, but they are rockstars too so there is that.

Sean and Georgia meet when she is 11 and he is 13, and their love story will take you on a difficult, dramatic, endearing, heartbreaking adventure. This love story is not black and white. It is not easy. It is not pretty. It's important to remember that not all love stories are perfect, and Lesley Jones does a fantastic job of smacking you in the face with that reality. I'm anxious to read the next book in the story. #teamcam
I sit here trying to make sense and come to terms with Carnage. The name of the book is so fitting it's scary.

I've had some ugly cries in the past they have been some doozies. They don't happen often with me I am one of those people that absorb and process first usually.

But Carnage has completely destroyed me. I'm inconsolable at this point. I'm numb. I'm not even present.

This book is ANGST and that word isn't even fitting. It's absolute destruction CARNAGE. I was told by others they were destroyed after reading this and I thought wow I need to read this wondering myself would this be one of those few books that gives me an ugly cry. I think I maybe have had four or five ugly cry books in my lifetime. This book ..... I was OBLITERATED !!!

It's 3am and even though right now I am mentally exhausted I can't sleep. I know that if I turn off the lights and lay in bed I will start to sob and as I type this the tears have resurfaced and are trickling down my face. My only options are to lay here with the lights on and slow my breathing or cry myself to sleep.

What Lesley Jones wrote I will never forget. The ups the downs, the heartbreak, the smiles, the love. The all consuming love.
