The Lonesome Young Lucy Connors Books
I have to say, I was kind of disappointed. The book started off way to fast and to me and it didn't have enough substance. It wasn't a boring book by any means but it wasn't very sophisticated. It seemed to me, they fell in love much to quickly without a build-up.I wanted their love to be secret for a while. I thought that was kind of the point of forbidden romance, seeing how it was a modern day Romeo and Juliet. However, come the middle of the book, I think its safe to say that a lot of the characters knew that something was going on between Victoria Whitfield and Mickey Rhodale. Not to mention, Mickey later revealed to his mom that he was in love with Victoria.
I guess the characters were likable but they just didn't seem real to me and that's the experience I search for when I read a book. At times they were funny. I always was amused by Mickey's confrontations with his brothers and Anna Mae.
It seemed that the ending was very abrupt. It was almost as if the author either couldn't think up a better ending or she was ready to end the book. The ending seemed like too easy of a fix for everything that Mickey had gotten himself into.
Lets just say, I had been really excited for the book and I wish I hadn't been disappointed, but I was. If you like fast pace books with less detail, you'll probably like this but if you're like me and enjoy the suspense and build-up of relationships and precarious situations, this probably isn't the book for you.

The Lonesome Young Lucy Connors Books Reviews
Saw this book for a $1 hardcover so I thought why not. Overall, for a buck it was well worth picking up. However, this is the first book I can ever remember finishing that I just could not connect with any of the characters. I thought Victoria shouldve been slapped when she thought Mickey was out of line for PROTECTING his MOTHER from her father! What?!!! The back and forth "I cant be with you. I cant live without you" got soooooo annoying 3/4 of the way in. I just wanted the book to end already because it was just dragging on.
For a teen book it had wayyyy too much cursing, but at least the sexual content was not too much or graphic.
Was this a terrible book? No, it was full of action, but the execution was not that good to me. I felt nothing for these characters. It was like watching a Lifetime teen movie (sighs). I didnt even care about how abrupt it ended. I was just glad it was over. But again for a $1 it was well worth it.
Was okay, I wish some parts of the book could be slowed down and explained in some more depth. I think to do that the book would need probably another 150 pages
Wow. An intense modern story of the Hatfields and McCoys and Romeo and Juliet. Whitfields vs Rhodale familes with Mickey and Victoria in the middle, they feel like their relationship is the only solution to the feud between their families. Quite a load for 2 teens. I thought this was an compelling/cannot put it down drama. Thank you , Connors, for making this the first of a series.
I loved this cover. And from the blurb, I thought the story line would be pretty good. Like Romeo and Juliet but with drugs and bikers threw into the mix. This book was a total cliche. I've read it before or other books like it, though better executed. Throughout this whole book we hear how dangerous mickey is. one fight doesn't make you dangerous. And Maybe it's books by kresley Cole and Becca Fitzpatrick that ruined ya for me. The romance in those books were delicious. I didn't get that in this book. Even the "hot" kissing scene was lukewarm. Still I finished it and it wasn't the worst book I've read. Hope This helps.
Lucy Connors paints a picture of a reality faced by teens in less than perfect families, struggling to just get by until they find a way to escape. I loved Mickey and Victoria and the heat between them. In fact, I love everything about this first book in the series. The good matriarch, the evil matriarch, the small-town setting, the horses, and the constant escalation of the choices Mickey and Victoria are forced to make.
The series is exactly as advertised, "Justified meets Romeo and Juliet," but the issues these two are facing come from the streets, the hollows, and the desperation that leads to addiction, meth manufacturing, and pain pill abuse that is tearing apart families and communities.
In a gritty world full of crime and neglect, the love-struck teens cling to each other. The conflict and danger so compelling that anything could happen at any moment. I couldn't put the book down, and I can't wait to pick up the next.
